Welcome to the Bark Side!
Since 2003, Rude Dogs has grown from two lifters and one coach into the powerlifting family we are today. 2027 is our 25th Season (that’s 175 seasons in dog years) and we plan to celebrate by making 2027 our beast season ever! (Not that the other 24 haven’t been grrrrreat as well.)
Our season runs from Fur-bruary to June each year with 90-minute practices every Tuesday evening with our doggone grrreat coaches at the official Rude Dogs paw-ffice – Rude Recreation Center. We partner with Muscle+Mindset and their fur-endly neighbor-hound coaches for additional 60-minute Mighty Mutts practices every other Thursday. Even if you are new to powerlifting:
No experience is needed. We will teach you!
We have two meets every season. Our Regional meet is at Greeley West Highland School at the beginning of April. Our State meet is part of Special Olympics Colorado’s State Games held at Collie-rado Mesa Uni-fur-sity in Grand Junction at the beginning of June.
Our philosophy is simple: Be Safe and Have Fun!
And let me tell you, the Rude Dogs are all about having fun! And eating donuts. And Chinese buffets. And deep dish pizza. And dog puns. So many dog puns.
Where was I? Oh, things we’re about! Of course, we are also about trying our hardest, achieving personal beasts, and hauling in ribbons and medals at com-pup-titions!

Our lifters build strength, set PRs and compete with the help of our volunteer coaches and support staff. Donations help the Rude Dogs purchase uniforms and equipment our lifters need to succeed.
Tax-deductible donations can be made through our Colorado Gives page. Donations go to Special Olympics Colorado and directly benefit the Rude Dogs Powerlifting Team.
